Vacuum Instruments Corporation Covid-19 Update — April 13, 2020
Dear Valued Customers, Suppliers and Business Partners
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, many states have or are issuing orders requiring the closure of non-essential businesses or that do not support “critical infrastructure.”
The Department of Homeland Security has designated manufacturing in support of the national defense, medical, transportation, automotive, communications, food and agriculture industries as part of the nation’s Critical Manufacturing Sector.
In addition, New York State has updated the Essential Business definition as of April 9, 2020, adding the following to the list of essential manufacturing:
Vacuum Instruments Corporation, LLC manufactures equipment for and supports critical applications in many of the sixteen sectors of critical infrastructure identified by the U.S. and NY Governments.
If you are a VIC supplier, please know that the manufacture of our products and spare parts reliant on material supplied by you to support critical infrastructure as designated by Federal and State governments. We are asking our suppliers to proactively take all precautions and measures and seek exemptions as an essential business from your local or relevant authorities to continue the supply of your products throughout this time. Your VIC procurement contact may be following up with you to confirm your commitment to supporting our material and service needs but please inform us immediately if you anticipate any issues.
While VIC products are vital components in equipment that are essential to supporting America’s infrastructure, the health of our employees, customers, suppliers, and business partners remains our top priority during this challenging period. Therefore, VIC will have a partial shutdown this week to perform another 100% cleaning and disinfecting of the facility. The facility will be closed for nine consecutive days to reinforce two key items: Keeping folks at home and allowing plenty of time for any virus which might be at VIC to be abated. All hands-on work requiring presence at the facility will resume on Monday, April 20th
There will be leadership and key individuals working remotely during the shutdown as required. We stand ready to help you in any way we can. We understand that you, our suppliers, customers, and business partners, are working to navigate these challenging times and their impact on your business. Thank you for your time and continued support during these difficult times.
