The purpose of the PBS-2 Bombing Station is to “bomb” hermetically sealed components prior to leak testing. Included in this system are two canisters (chambers) which may be pressurized to 100 psi. Max. Each of the two canisters may be operated independently thus allowing the operation to run sequentially, providing a constant flow of newly “bombed” parts. It also permits several devices to be prepared to varying specifications Operating controls provide for initial evacuation of the canisters (from 1 atm down to 30 in Hg max); backfill of helium (1 atm to 100 psi max) ; removal of helium after bombing and flushing of
bombed parts with dry nitrogen (removes residual surface helium).
