INTREPID
LEAK TEST SYSTEM | MILITARY & DEFENSE
The system uses helium molecular detection with a mass spectrometer leak detector and vacuum technology to determine the rate of helium leakage from a test part.
The Intrepid is a standardized solution for leak testing nose cones and optics/guidance assemblies at 10-9 using our MS-50GT. It can also be used for other applications.
Performance
- Sensitivity vacuum: 3.0 x 10-11 atm-cc/sec
- Sensitivity sniffing: 3.0 x 10-3 to -5 atm-cc/sec
- Startup time: less than 3 minutes
Operation
- Part is placed under a retractable test chamber
- Test chamber is lowered and locked down
- Test cycle starts
- Chamber and the part are evacuated (under vacuum)
- Part is charged (Inside-In Method) or the Bell Jar is charged with
helium (Inside-Out Method)
- Leak test is performed to detect if any Helium leaked from the test
part to the bell jar (Inside-in) or from the bell jar to the part (Inside-out)
- Test cycle is completed
The INTREPID can be fully customized to meet your testing requirements.
